Where Have We Been?

We have crisscrossed the entire State of California in the first quarter of 2011 training the award-winning CALCTP Green Workforce program.
What is CALCTP?
The California Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program (CALCTP) is a statewide initiative aimed at increasing the use of lighting controls in commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

Through proper installation, advanced lighting controls improve energy efficiency in commercial facilities and save significant dollars. CALCTP will educate, train and certify licensed electrical contractors, and state certified general electricians in the proper design, installation and commissioning of advanced lighting control systems.

Who is ASHRAE?

The ASHRAE co-sponsored AHR Expo takes place Jan. 31Feb. 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. With the economy showing signs of improvement and Las Vegas hosting the Show for the first time, the 2011 AHR Expo is on track to be the largest Western states event in the show´s 80-year history.

ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of over 50,000 persons. ASHRAE fulfills its mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education. Working with clients developing new solutions for the sustainability marketplace as well as end users seeking cost-effective solutions, we met with many vendors who offered improved products and systems for all building systems whether refrigeration, heating ventilation, air or cooling.
We attended a key conference led by ASHRAE and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES)  where the leaders kicked off the new green standards initiatives of the two standards setting engineering societies. The collaboration begins with ASHRAE 90.1 standards revision.
